My First Week at Centelon

Life changes are emotional, and each person handles situations in their own way. These changes might include a transition to the start of the first job. Sometimes, change can provoke multiple simultaneous emotions like excitement, nervousness, joy, and anxiety but each unfamiliar situation makes us better prepared for the future.

I was hired as an Associate Consultant Data Scientist at Centelon’s Bangalore office. On February 25, 2019, my dream of becoming a Data Scientist came to fruition as I began the position.

On my first day, I felt a plethora of emotions. I was nervous and at the same time, I felt excited to be a part of the company and was grateful to have the adaptive tools needed to make advancement a reality.

I felt deeply appreciative to my manager Mr. Prabhash Thakur. He has a very down-to-earth personality and is always ready to help. He allocated a project for me on the first day and gave me guidelines on how to work upon it. This was what I was waiting for the whole of my life: working on real-world projects and gaining more knowledge.

I also feel grateful to my coworkers Harish, Lakshmy, Shiwangi, and Ritika who graciously gave of their time to answer my questions and share their experiences.

I would also like to thank Sri Vidya, the HR person who made me feel at home and made me more comfortable and gave me a warm welcome to Centelon. She’s the kind of person whom one would go for help be it for professional or personal reasons. A warm person at heart, she transforms the office into a home. I really look forward to being around her more.

Finally, I would like to thank Centelon Global for giving me such a warm welcome.

Any person would die to work for a company like this which is so supportive. Centelon is a place to grow and develop and I really look forward to advancing my career with it.
